SEVERAL TECHNIQUES OF
INTERROGATION
Interrogation is used by police
to gather evidence and find criminals. In the modern interrogation, the police
usually use psychological techniques such as bad and goop cop. The bad cop
stimulates the criminals with her/him intimidating treatment, and the good ones
show his/her understanding behavior.
This is the differences between the police officer who play the bad and
the goop cops:

@The bad cop: the police will show
that he/she is angry with the suspect. The police attempt that the suspects
lying and they will get the most severe punishment.
@The good cop: the police shows
his/her sympathy to the suspect. He/she seems to understand the suspect's
behavior to lie, even the police officer will express the disappointment if the
suspect continues to lie.
*This psychological technique will work if the
suspect confesses to the good cop after the bad cop leaving the room.
There are some strategies usually used for
interrogation. First, the interrogator must show to the suspect that he/she
control the interrogation process. All of the situations at the interrogation
room such as the size of the room, the lighting, the furniture, must be built
to make the suspect uncomfortable. Then the interrogator could show certain gestures.
For instance, the interrogator should consider his/her behavior to moves closer
to the suspects, when to stand, when to use key phrases, etc. This strategy
titled loss control because the goal of this strategy is to make the suspect
feeling vulnerable and anxious.

Second, the interrogator built social
isolation for the suspect. The social isolation defined that all the suspects
almost go alone in the interrogation process. This strategy decreases the
emotional support for the suspect and deprives the contradictory information.
Third, the interrogator will express that the police know that the suspect is
guilty. The interrogator will show the several pieces of evidence inflicted the
suspect is guilty. Some wordings are spoken by the interrogator to persuade the
suspect that they know the suspect is the real criminal, not the innocent.
Last, the interrogator said to the suspect
that they predict the suspect criminal act is an excuse or justification for
themselves. For instance, the suspect did the criminal act/s because of self-defense.
Otherwise, the sexual assaulter usually persuades by the police with this
strategy. The police make the suspect believed that their actions just normal
behavior and many other people do that sexual criminal too. They said this to
encourage the suspect to confess.
