                Counterpart is a US series even though this series was filming in Germany. The story focused on spy drama, but it took different spy than the other movie or series. It is not only about the spy, but also the parallel world.
               In the prime world (or called alpha), Howard Silk was only a usual employee at the UN, Germany. He lived as usual and peacefully with her wife, Emily. In sudden, everything was changed. He found out that the embassy where he worked is a door to the other dimension or parallel world. After he knew this big secret, Howard’s life couldn’t same as before. He and his double (the same Howard Silk from the other world) had to solve the mystery of conflict between these two worlds.
               The other Howard Silk was a spy. He came to the prime Howard Silk to find out who is responsible for the chaos that happened in his world. His world had different huge with the alpha world because there is an illness (I thought that it was influenza or flu) that suffered by many people in there. Beta world (the world where the Double Howard live) believed that the illness was caused by the alpha world. But, the alpha world tried to cover it up, and the problems lead to the other thing, the terrorist group.
               [ATTENTION, SPOILER!] The terrorist group was a group of people from alpha world. They believe the alpha world did harm to their world, so they did a lot of training for young kids in secret. After a lot of training since they were kids, they are going to the prime’s world and spying the embassy. Not only become the spies but also they had to exchange their real double in the alpha world. They will pretend to be their double and doing some missions in there.
               In alpha world, the embassy has some moles. These moles could be someone, so it emerged into the problems and conflict between these two worlds. Yeah, the moles are the spies who had been trained a lot by this terrorist group from the other world. The story will cover much about the conflict, the war between these spies, and the diplomacy conflict (it would be portrayed more by Peter’s character).
               The Counterpart has many genres, even though it focused more on spy or action genres. This series has some plot twists and they are great, also suitable for the plot. I was still surprised with Emily’s character because her character is compelling yet complicated. I like her and the touching moments that happened between her and Howard. The acting is also amazing. Almost all actors or actresses in this show should portray two persons with different personalities. So, I always love the acting skills that showed by J.K. Simmons (who is the Howard) and several characters in this show.
               Luckily, the counterpart has only two seasons. I glad this series stopped its story in the second season. This show does not overlong and this series so underrated. I encouraged all of the viewers who love watching mystery, spy, action, science-fiction, and thriller genre to watch this. Counterpart had many of genres that will be your interest; the huge mystery, the great action, the surprising plot of science-fiction, and the thrilling. If you had watched this series, I bet you all love season two, episode six titled Twin Cities. It is one of the best episodes from all the TV shows that I ever watched.
