Dark Matter: another mind-bending for you who never enough of it!

Hello! Been so long to write again about book review! Here I am, writing another book written by Blake Crouch. The novel is released long ago and has been so popular. The rumor that it will be filmed, but there is still no movie.

After finished the book, I am reminded by “US”, a movie by Jordan Peele, told about doppleganger. If you take hint about the doppleganger, Dark Matter has a similarity with it. The book focus on Jason Dessen, a psychic professor. He found that his home, his wife, and his son are gone after he got unconscious. After that, he aware that he in the different reality. He is neither a dad nor a husband. He is still a professor but in more advanced position than he think of. The surprises and twists will go along as the story goes.

I have read and watched so many story about time travel or parallel world. So that, I don’t take the twists and surprises in this book as it should. Besides that, the story is fast-paced and original. The story in the middle part is my favorite, when he and his friend (Ugh I forgot her name) trapped in the “dark matter”. Jason is depressed but I found it is good how the character developed and influenced the plot, also why he differ than the other Jasons.

If I compared to the Recursion written by the same author, I think the Recursion is better. The story from Recursion is more intriguing and fast-paced. But, I more comfortable to read Dark Matter. I do not know why, even though, both of the story’s core is love (especially with the wife or girlfriend), Dark Matter is given me less headache and cringe scenes. I still hope there will be a movie, either Dark Matter or Recursion or both.

If you like mind-bending and science fiction, you obviously should read this! Anything from Blake Crouch is recommended to read for sci-fi lovers.

TV SHOW SCI-FI, MYSTERY, & SUPERNATURAL REVIEW! #3

Part 3 (Castle Rock, Undone, Maniac, Channel Zero) Again, having fun ride with me!! Let’s go Castle Rock  Castle Rock adapted from Stephen King’s novels. Castle Rock's popularity was rising after It, a movie that adapted also from Stephen King's novel . Castle Rock season one is my favorite than the second because the story is more scary and layered. It combines horror, mystery, and a little bit of science fiction so well. At first, it was more horror and mystery. A police found a strange man in a cage. The strange man gives several unlucky events to the people in Castle Rock. He called as the devil. But, who is he actually? The performance of Bill Skarsgard is never disappointed. He shows one of his best performances besides his performance as Pennywise in It. At the end of season one, the twist unfolds. This was when the story become more into science-fiction and supernatural. The second season is much different than the first; there are dead people becoming zombies and the...

Happy Reading #3

Hello! Welcome to the third batch of my reading routine. It has been so loongg, I didn't post something about books. I have something more important right now, so my reading routine has lef out awhile from my life.  Those books (Inferno excluded) have been in my list since July 2021. I've read 3 of them and I will write the "standalone" review later. First of all, I share you some hints about my four new books.  1. The Craftsman (by Sharon Bolton) When I found this book in BBW, I was honestly intrigued by the sypnosis. This book has some exciting elements, which are witchcraft and mystery. It look promising, thereby this book will be the last one I read. 2. The Fourth Monkey (J.D.Baker) This one is the first book from The First Monkey series. The book focused on the mystery of a death of infamous criminal. The duo detective in this case and the rest of team tried to find the truth behind the death, is  the criminal that they really seek after for a long time, or ju...
